Scientist (Medicinal Chemistry/ Pre-clinical studies)
Kineta is seeking an experienced, and well-rounded medicinal chemist to join our discovery and development team focused on the optimization and development of new antiviral/immunomodulating compounds. The responsibilities of the position will include hit to lead optimization of small molecule scaffolds utilizing QSAR analysis and development of analytical and bioanalytical methods for lead compound classes. The scientist must have prior experience organizing and executing QSAR studies and be highly capable in designing small molecule analogs and predicting their toxicity/reactivity. Additionally, the candidate will assist with preclinical study design and implementation including assay optimization and analytical assay development.

The successful candidate will be a creative, hands-on, bench scientist with proven skills in the field of medicinal chemistry. Kineta is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as the member of a team in a fast-paced start-up environment. Independent thinking and excellent communications skills are desired.

Qualifications: A Ph.D. with several years of experience in small molecule Medicinal Chemistry. Previous analytical methods development and assay optimization skills are required. Must be computer proficient (Windows), possess excellent written and oral communication skills, show attention to detail, and have experience working in a fast-paced research environment.
